Dr. Matshediso Kgamane
Dr. Matshediso Kgamane is a highly accomplished medical professional with a rich background in aviation, travel and wilderness medicine. She obtained her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands-Antilles and holds postgraduate certificates in Travel Medicine and Aviation Medicine.
Dr. Kgamane further enhanced her expertise with a fellowship in Wilderness Medicine. She is currently working on a certificate on in Risk Management for Outdoor Programs. As the Founder and Medical Director of DrK Travel Clinic in Gaborone, Botswana, Dr. Kgamane has been at the forefront of travel health, providing critical medical support and guidance to travelers. Her innovative approach includes leveraging telehealth technologies, which she has been utilizing for the past 8-10 years to expand access to medical care. Running a concierge and travel clinic means taking care of clients in different geographical locations, and the only way to take care of clients in different continents on the same day is by using technology through telemedicine.

She is a technology entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in building web and mobile products. Ms. Lakshmy Lal has also handled engineering delivery for clients like Siemens Mobile, Nokia, Qualcomm, Nokia Siemens Networks and various product startups. Dr. Carlo Breytenbach
Dr. Carlo Breytenbach completed his undergraduate education with MB, ChB at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Following this, he obtained a Diploma in Anaesthesiology from the South African College of Anaesthetists.
Dr. Carlo spent a number of years working in Accident and Emergency Medicine in South Africa and the United Kingdom. He qualified as Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) in South Africa and is also designated as AME for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia.
Dr. Carlo completed a postgraduate honours degree in Aerospace Medicine with distinction from the University of Pretoria and a Master’s degree in Aviation Medicine with distinction from the University of Otago in New Zealand. He moved to the UAE in 2010 where he worked as critical care air ambulance flight physician based in Dubai for two years prior to joining Etihad Airways.

Dr. Garth Brink
Dr. Garth Brink graduated from the University of Pretoria and entered private general practice in Durban in 1972. He has a post graduate degree in family medicine and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians, South Africa. His main interests are family medicine, aviation medicine, travel medicine, and continuing medical education.
Dr. Brink was President of the South African Society of Travel Medicine (SASTM) from 2004-2008 and the Society’s Project Manager from 2009-2021. He currently holds the position of Project Manager with the Pan African Travel Medicine Federation. Dr. Brink is a published author in the field of travel medicine.

Dr. Sietske Dantuma
Dr Sietske Dantuma completed her medical degree at the University of Groningen (Netherlands) in 2015. After graduating, she worked as a traveler’s health advisor at a private travel health clinic and subsequently at the emergency department and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) of Hospital Group Twente (ZGT), a general hospital in Almelo, the Netherlands.
In 2018, she moved to Tanzania and started working as a General Practitioner at IST Clinic since 2019. This is an international oriented primary care clinic in Dar es Salaam, which also offers travel medicine services and vaccinations. She has been a member of the Travel Medicine Group of Tanzania since its founding in 2021. In January this year she completed the International Society of Travel Medicine's Certificate of Travel Health examination successfully.

Dr. Kessie Naidoo
Dr. Kessie Naidoo completed his undergraduate studies in 2000 at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. After completing his internship and community service, he spent two years abroad in the United Kingdom, gaining work experience in general surgery and urology. He qualified as a specialist general surgeon from UKZN in 2008. He subsequently spent four years as a consultant general surgeon in the public sector. In 2013, he commenced full time private practice.
In 2016 and 2017 he underwent training at the IRCAD Institute in Strasbourg, France and obtained certificates in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and laparoscopic and endoluminal bariatric and metabolic surgery respectively. In 2018 he completed training in bariatric endoscopic management at the Endoclub Academy in Hamburg.
Dr. Naidoo is currently in full time private practice at Netcare Umhlanga Hospital and Busamed Gateway Private Hospital. His special interests include laparoscopic gastrointestinal and hernia surgery, as well as endocrine and metabolic surgery.
